Group Exercise Changes
Starting the week of February 22, there will be several changes to the group exercise schedule. For the past few months, Bay Club Marin staff have examined the best possible ways to meet the needs and requests of our early morning exercisers. It is our desire and commitment to enhance your experience every time you walk through our doors. Mondays at 8:15 am, Milton Fiala takes over the teaching duties for Total EXHAUST.
Mondays at 8:15 am, Jeff McMullen launches a new class of his own design: Sole Synthesis.
Wednesdays, there is a change in both time and location. Jeff McMullen is moving his very popular Ultimate KickBox class to the gymnasium. There you will have plenty of room to kick, punch, and jab your way fit. The class time will change to 8:30 am.
Group Exercise Classes
According to the Los Angeles Times (Sunday, January 17, 2010), "Group exercise, fusion classes, strength training, and custom programs are among the fitness trends taking exercise buffs into the New Year." Bay Club Marin already offers four of the top ten trends within its group exercise schedule. 1. Fitness Fusion style classes "...keep you from getting bored and target a wider range of muscles." Thursdays at 10:15 am, Body Fusion Workout with Jenn, is one of these style classes, utilizing a variety of equipment and combining different modalities of exercise (strength and core training, Pilates, balance and barre work). Suitable for all fitness levels, this class will challenge you, strengthen your bones, and align your posture. 2. Ball Workouts "...increase balance and strength ... for a full body workout." Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:15 am, Amy leads a fabulous Core Ball Fusion class. She incorporates various pieces of equipment in this workout for both upper and lower body. Are you looking to improve your posture, create a lean silhouette, work your core, and strengthen your back? If so, this is the class for you. 3. Core Training provides moves to "...to specifically support middle body muscles including those of the pelvis, lower back, hips, and abdomen." In addition to both Jenn's and Amy's classes, Bay Club Marin offers a Core Off The Floor class Wednesdays and Fridays at 11:45 am. On Wednesdays, join Shanti for a dynamic workout. On Fridays, during the month of February, Bay Club Marin is hosting a different instructor every week in order to offer you a variety of approaches to a core workout. Core Off The Floor is a unique workout where you will work your core standing, sitting, reaching, throwing, catching--anything but with traditional sit-ups. Come once and you will make this a permanent part of your fitness routine. 4. Strength Training "...is appearing on everyone's workout program as its weight loss and general well being benefits are being realized." Several of our classes incorporate strength training as a part of the class format, including Total EXHAUST, metaMorphosis, Body Defined, Bootcamp, and Change It Up! All of our instructors bring their own unique perspective, skills, and expertise to lead you through a challenging and ever-changing fitness workout. Cycling Classes
Bay Club Marin has 22 cycle instructors presenting you with 41 different opportunities for the ultimate cario workout. Every instructor brings something different to a class - music, teaching style, coaching techniques. With our great cycle studio and so much variety from which to choose, you can select your own "perfect" workout. And, for those with the time to do a double workout, our schedule allows you to go from a cycle class to a group exercise class:
