ADAGIO with Michael Parra

This class is like a slow dance, fluid and continuous. The sequence is specific and repeated. There are no held pos­tures; instead you melt into shapes as you would a warm bath. Although the warm-up is performed standing, the stretch series never leaves the floor; and while the intention is to elongate your limbs, the emphasis throughout is the position of your spine. As you stretch you’ll listen to and learn about the music and the lives of the great composers. This class is held in candlelight.

Instructor Michael Parra is a former professional ballet dancer turned fitness and Pilates trainer. Prior to his physical education, Michael was a philosophy major, pianist, flautist and a student of classical music composition.
